Recycling

An established name in recycling

Schöne Edelmetaal B.V. is one of the oldest established companies active in recycling and refining precious metals. We are a traditional company with an innovative spirit, working every day to develop new recycling techniques and improve our existing methods. This enables us to recover even the tiniest fragments from waste and reuse them.

Taking good care of both metal and client

We understand that transparency and mutual trust are essential for doing business and handle both you and your precious metals with the greatest care and respect. The value this gives to our business is confirmed through our clients and our certifications. Which is why we are the only business in the Netherlands holding the ‘Good Delivery Status’. We have also recently been certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC).

Serving both businesses and private customers

We are happy to be of service to both business and private customers. Different procedures apply accordingly.

Recycling

After receiving your material we smelt it into a bar. To establish its content, this is then analysed via cupellation* in our independently certified laboratory.

The larger the amount of precious metal processed at a time, the lower the relative processing cost. This means we are able to offer you better prices for handling larger quantities. If you wish, we can work together with you to find a way of insuring against possible price risks. The processing time depends on the material you provide.

Processing time

  • Clean scrap metal: 3 to 5 working days
  • Filings and production scrap: 10 to 15 working days
  • Scrap silver: 10 to 15 working days
  • Sweepings 8 to 12 weeks

For processing times for extracting precious metals from other waste materials, please contact us.

* We use advanced ICP analysis equipment for materials such as platinum, palladium and rhodium. Determining of silver content is done via titrimetric analysis.
